On the bonnie, bonnie banks of Loch Lomond… never attempt to photograph seven collie dogs!
I’ve spent a number of years photographing Scotland’s remarkable agritourism sector and have built some wonderful friendships along the way. The energy, passion, and determination across this sector is incredible – and I’m especially excited that Scotland will be hosting the Global Agritourism Conference in June 2026.
This image dates back to my first shoot post-COVID, over a couple of days around the Trossachs. Briefed to create a library of marketing images, we visited several agritourism enterprises and captured the diverse experiences on offer. This shot features the lovely Duncan family on the banks of Loch Lomond… with seven collie dogs. One dog, overwhelmed by the chaos, decided the best way to handle it was to exit the frame in the most obvious fashion possible!
That charming, unexpected moment ended up making the image stronger than what I had originally planned. Over the years, I’ve learned that no matter what’s happening around you – keep shooting!
