There is nothing quite like the annual lamb sales up at Lairg in Sutherland. It’s a huge affair, often seeing the ring – and it’s large – full of NCC lambs destined for all parts of the UK. It reminds me very much of auction marts when I was a laddie, spartan and full of characters!
I’ve covered the sale a good few times, sometimes shooting digital, medium format film and 360 degree panoramas. This digital frame sums up the frenetic nature of the day and shows a packed sales ring. I love how the light focuses on the ring and falls off towards the bidders.
