Interactive gigapixel panoramic photographs

Welcome to my collection of gigapixel panoramic photographs. I shoot these purely on a personal basis when time allows. Staring in 2009 while working in Edinburgh I would shoot in lunchtimes and back then my Mac would be tied up for days processing the (then) enormous files. Technology has moved on at pace and today I capture these scenes with a robotic head and the stitching process is measured in minutes and hours – not days… These gigapixel images are the result of capturing many individual photographs in rows and columns then collating together a bit like a jigsaw puzzle. Images can be as much as 70gb but the examples here have been reduced somewhat for viewing online.
