This one goes back to my first day shooting with SAC Consulting a number of years ago, when I was commissioned to create an image library illustrating the breadth of their offering.
Taken towards the end of the day, it features Sascha Grierson on her farm in Perthshire, home to a small renewables project. I really like the simplicity of this frame – split into three essential elements: the solar panels, a wintry sky, and Sascha looking off into the distance. Images like this would be impossible without a bit of additional light. I used a single off-camera flash to lift her out of the scene and bring out detail in her clothing – without it, she’d be completely silhouetted against the sky.
Another simple, storytelling image that could (and has) been used across a variety of narratives.
